NOT worth the money - also not proofread, evidently

This book (yes, it is a single, bound book) is littered with the most basic of grammatical errors. That can be looked past, but it is rather disconcerting considering how easily they are corrected. That being said, I would be *shocked* if anyone claimed that this text was proofread in it's entirety even once during the writing process.
As for the information included, it does give a basic understanding of bitcoin and the blockchain ledger system, touching on it's oncoming applications in turn.
In summary,
My gripes:
This is a single bound book. The font is rather large. This is no 'thorough guide' to bitcoin tech by any stretch of the imagination. The listing made it appear I was getting two vast texts. I should have looked into the page count, sure, but this doesn't detract from misleading customers.
Additionally, as stated above, there are several *basic* grammatical errors. Mind-blowing, especially with a topic of this caliber, frankly. With these items in mind, this book is grossly overpriced, compared to 4-hundred page texts -- which stark in their thoroughness, of much greater quality, that are available for half the price.

Bitcoin is a new form of digital currency. Bitcoin’s extreme security features are an advantage. But there have been hacking incidents involving theft. This book gives a lot of information about many aspects of the subject, but it still seems confusing and risky for the novice (at least to me). As this book says, “there is much improvement that needs to be done for this type of digital currency.” And it says that the infrastructure is just now approaching the level “that makes Bitcoin usable for average people and machines.” We are told that the race “to create a functional working model” may not produce results “for years to come.”
There is already a newer, competing digital currency called Darkcoin, which is dedicated to making transactions even more anonymous than Bitcoin. I was looking for an introductory explanation, but it seems like this book is intended for someone who is already quite familiar with the technology involved. Many people seem convinced that Bitcoin/Blockchain does have promise, so I suspect we will see it continue to evolve.
