About the Author
CHRISTOPHER CHAPMAN is Spiritual Formation Adviser for the Diocese of Southwark and helps to train lay pastoral workers. He trained as a spiritual director at St Beuno's and Heythrop College and has been involved in retreat giving and spiritual direction for 25 years.

Mostly theoretical, little practical value

I am a geophysicist who develops practical software to manipulate seismic waves for oil exploration. I would say this book is useless for most of people in my field. The title is "wave propagation", but the book is all about ray, which is a high frequency approximation of waves. Most of the topics in the book are irrelevant to any thing that can be used by a practitioner of geophysics. Unless you have a test on these theoretical stuff or want to know what theoretical geophysics is about, I wouldn't recommend buying the book.
