Java in Easy to Understand Format

This book is great! The author has used lots of colorful visuals to explain the concepts. This makes learning Java a breeze plus the explanations are good. Very comprehensible for someone with no Java background :)

This book Sucks

This book bills itself as an introductory book on Java programming but is nearly impossible to read. Let me give you an example from page 174:
"What is the effect of such code? It is logically inconsistent to initialize the starting balance more than once. It should be called exactly one, but there is no such Java language feature that puts constraints on the number of times the setInitialBalance method can be called."
It should be called exactly one? What he is trying to say is this: It should be called only once.
Read a book like this where this stuff is on every other page and it will drive you insane. Sorry waste of BIG MONEY. Horrible as a book to teach students anything but how to be confused on a permanent basis.
