Mi pap� sali� a arreglar la citroneta. Dice que bota aceite. Mi mam� le llev� un jarro con jugo a mi pap�. Mi pap� le daba besos a mi mam�. Me molesta que mi pap� le d� besos a mi mam�. �l tiene a su mam�, �por qu� mi pap� quiere quitarme la m�a? �Por qu� no le va a dar besos a su mam� y deja tranquila a mi mam�, que es m�a? Mi pap� es ego�sta, quiere tener dos mam�s y dejarme a m� sin ninguna. Mi pap� me dijo que la parti�ramos en dos, pero le dije que no, porque �l se va a quedar con una mam� y media y yo me quedar� con media mam� nom�s. Lo prob�, pero no me gust�. Se debe estar descomponiendo, como los pescados cuando no los meten en el refrigerador. Parece que cuando un arco iris se muere, los duendes que viven dentro se deshacen. �De qu� habr� muerto? Yo creo que mi pap� lo atropell�, porque estaba debajo de la citroneta. �Lo habr� matado adrede o fue de casualidad? Yo creo que fue de casualidad, como la vez que se cay� el florero blanco. Quer�a saber qu� hab�a arriba del mueble del comedor. Fue de casualidad, porque yo no lo toqu�, se cay� solo. About the Author
Emmanuel Lesaffre, Professor of Statistics, Biostatistical Centre, Catholic University of Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. Dr Lesaffre has worked on and studied various areas of biostatistics for 25 years. He has taught a variety of courses to students from many disciplines, from medicine and pharmacy, to statistics and engineering, teaching Bayesian statistics for the last 5 years. Having published over 200 papers in major statistical and medical journals, he has also Co-Edited the book Disease Mapping and Risk Assessment for Public Health, and was the Associate Editor for Biometrics. He is currently Co-Editor of the journal “Statistical Modelling: An International Journal”, Special Editor of two volumes on Statistics in Dentistry in Statistical Methods in Medical Research, and a member of the Editorial Boards of numerous journals.

Andrew Lawson, Professor of Statistics, Dept of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, University of South Carolina, USA. Dr Lawson has considerable and wide ranging experience in the development of statistical methods for spatial and environmental epidemiology. He has solid experience in teaching Bayesian statistics to students studying biostatistics and has also written two books and numerous journal articles in the biostatistics area. What You Need To Know About Addison's

Addison's disease is very complex. If you do have it, I would encourage you to do as much helpful research as possible, but only to fill your mind with healing and not with worry. This book is a great packet of information full of all the important things you need to know about Addison's. Always stay strong, have faith in your healing, and try meditation like the author suggests (especially guided meditation, in my opinion, if you are new). Be open to positive change and never give up. God is with all.

Short, Simple and Satisfactory

This short book (25 pages) is worth the price. Most of the information was basic and can be found online but not conveniently in one location. This is the perfect beginner book for sharing with the newly diagnosed or friends and family of those with Addison's. However, it is very basic. I did discover some new information but need to find another reference to expand my understanding of it.

A really awesome book that broadcasts a topic that many don't know about. Deeb is bold in doing this, and I appreciate it so. Attended a lecture on the book and I was absolutely moved by her and her findings. This has definitely sparked an interest in the Middle East for myself.

Essential for any student of Arimaa

Arimaa is an anomaly: a modern abstract strategy game, only ten years old, that feels like a classic perfected centuries ago. Strategy enthusiasts who encounter Arimaa feel it is worthy of more than a casual game or three, more than a weekend's diversion from life's cares. Arimaa seems worthy of persistent study, with secrets profound enough to elude dilettantes, yet simple enough to guide the masters to apparently effortless victories.

"Arimaa Strategies and Tactics" is written by a student of the game, for students of the game. The author, Jean Daligault, did not win four Arimaa World Championships because he had his game face on, as sports commentators like to say, as if a particular mindset during play were the key to victory. Instead Daligault rose to dominate Arimaa by virtue of his mindset between games. He continually questioned why games turned out the way they did, endlessly analyzed positions with anyone who shared his interest, and analyzed all by himself when he was the only one curious enough. This book grew organically from his personal collection of notes on how to play.

We Arimaa enthusiasts are blessed that Daligault has decided to share his hard-earned insights rather than hoarding them along with his tournament trophies. He is knowingly helping his direct competitors for next year's championship. I personally gained a clearer understanding of many finer points of play that had been hazy in my mind, and I am confident that repeated readings will deepen that clarity. Yet the insights presented here are not too obscure for an average player; anyone who has played a score of games, who is familiar with the rules and basic tactics of Arimaa, can take a leap forward from a slow, careful reading of "Arimaa Strategies and Tactics".

The reader will notice from time to time that English is not Daligault's first language; this might be distracting to a native English speaker seeking a light perusal of Arimaa theory. To anyone who earnestly intends to improve his game, however, an occasional French sentence structure or word choice is utterly obscured by the brilliance of the examples. Anyone who cares enough to set up the positions on a board at home in order to play out the lines will conclude that this is a book it would have been worth learning French in order to be able to read. I am grateful to be spared the trouble, thanks to Daligault targeting his international audience. (Arimaa is played world-wide; the most recent champion is Japanese.)

The fire-sale pricing of the "Arimaa Strategies and Tactics" shows Daligault's true motivation for writing. He loves Arimaa and wants you to be able to love it in the same way. Even though he could easily profit from the growing pool of Arimaa devotees who would willingly compensate him for such excellent teaching, he has chosen instead to maximize his readership.

The one sentence in the book that I entirely disagree with is in the introduction. Daligault opines that his book will not stand the test of time, because Arimaa is still such a young game and strategic understanding is still so rapidly evolving. I expect, on the contrary, that the grandmasters of Arimaa one hundred years from now, despite having a vastly deeper and more refined understand of Arimaa than we possess today, will read "Arimaa Strategies and Tactics" simply to marvel at how Daligault understood so much so early in Arimaa's development.

Improve Your Game

Arimaa Strategies and Tactics captures the current state of Arimaa knowledge that has been discovered during the game's first decade. Four time Arimaa world champion Jean Daligault began keeping notes of what he had learned as he played Arimaa. Eventually the notes grew to a 280 page book that took several years to finalize. Even though Daligault is a native French speaker, he chose to write the book in English to benifit the majority of the Arimaa players who speak English. He received help with proofreading and corrections from a dedicated group of English speaking Arimaa players whom he thanks in the acknowledgments.

Intended for the serious Arimaa players looking to improve their game, the book is organized into eleven chapters. The first ten give a detailed coverage of the important principles of Arimaa, including topics such as frames, hostages, trap control, and material balance. The last chapter provides an indepth analysis of several championship and postal games where lessons from the previous chapters are highlighted in the games of top players.

The long awaited release of this book will bring a new era to the level of play in Arimaa, as players aspiring to become world champions and bot developers trying to claim the Arimaa challenge absorb the knowledge from the book and use it in practice. In order to provide the widest possible distribution, the book has been priced close to production cost. In addition, 100% of the profits from the book will be donated to increase the Arimaa world championship prize fund.

Great strategy guide

A really excellent strategy guide. I'm not very good at Arimaa yet, but I have learned a ton from reading this book. I'm already playing much better than I was before, and enjoying it more--the book has given me a heightened appreciation of the game. I plan to re-read it in a month or two once I've learned to put some of it into practice, in hopes of being able to better internalize some of the harder parts.

As a beginner in Arimaa, I was worried the book might be too difficult or abstract for me to follow, but it wasn't. I just read one chapter at a time, playing more games in between. To get the most out of it you do have to be willing to work through the moves on your own, which takes time, but if you're willing to do that, it's not difficult to understand.

I also enjoyed the little personal reflections on the Arimaa community and its recent history. The author has a pleasant way of guiding you through the concepts.
